GAA Database Stolen


A man in the North is currently out on bail after having been arrested for stealing a database belonging to the GAA with the personal details of more than 500,000 GAA fans.Gaa Database Stolen

The database was stolen from Servasport, a software company that had been managing the database for the GAA. It is believed that a disgruntled employee is responsible for the theft.

Names, Addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and in some cases medical conditions are stored in the database. The GAA is apparently writing to everyone who is affected by the stolen database.

In a statement made by Servasport they said that they were assisting the police and the Data Protection Commissioner with their investigations.
